Hello! My name is Maximo Alfonso, and I’m thrilled to welcome you to my shop—a space where fossils and minerals are more than objects; they are stories waiting to be told. My fascination with Norway’s natural beauty and geological treasures began in 2010, when I started exploring the country with fresh eyes. Over the years, I’ve turned my passion into a career, mastering the art of fossil preparation and mineral collection.

A Journey Through Time and Passion

  • Local Expertise: Norway is a land of incredible geological diversity, from majestic landscapes to hidden fossil treasures. My journey began here, and it has been a privilege to uncover, prepare, and share these natural wonders.
  • Collaboration: I’ve worked closely with esteemed institutions, including local museums and the Natural History Museum in Oslo. As an acting conservator, I contributed to exhibitions showcasing Norway’s rich Ordovician trilobite heritage.
  • The Trilobox Project: From 2017 to 2019, I was part of the amazing geology center in Slemmestad, where I helped develop “Trilobox.” This innovative project brought geology to life through hands-on fossil preparation and dynamic displays. Visitors witnessed the intricate art of fossil preparation up close, watching as fossils transformed from hidden relics to spectacular exhibition pieces.

Where Art Meets Geology

My background in sculpture and bronze art deeply influences my approach to fossils. Trained in casting techniques, I’ve created sculptures for exhibitions at the Natural History Museum and the Botanical Garden in Oslo. For me, fossils are more than remnants of the past—they are nature’s masterpieces, waiting to be revealed with precision and care.

A Global Perspective

My work extends beyond Norway’s borders. I’ve spent months collaborating with Moroccan fossil expert Abdelaziz Oumouhou, sharing techniques and insights. Morocco’s extraordinary fossil collections and Abdelaziz’s expertise have enriched my approach and inspired my craft. This partnership allows me to offer some of the finest, meticulously prepared fossils available, with guaranteed authenticity.
